Candidates for Duke of Edinburgh Awards gained their Silver Certificated for Service, having also gained their Power Boat Level 2 RYA certificates at a course run by the RAF Sailng Association for the RNLI.(see Next Page)

The Royal Lifeboat Institution can support individuals and groups to fulfil their service section at each of the three award levels.

Individuals

Happisburgh Lifeboat Station will host individuals or small groups. The service is individually planned but is likely to include some experience of crew training, including shore support and training on navigation techniques.

We can help young people plan fundraising projects and give them support from our fundraising team.

Groups

We can help you plan a programme that will involve an experience of the RNLI (usually including a visit to our station) and follow up fundraising or volunteering opportunity. There may also be an opportunity of working with our Lifeguards.

Insurance arrangements exist between the D of E scheme and the RNLI for these activities.
